About
With a lifelong passion for art, design, and nature, Lori Baccanari brings a unique blend of creativity and thoughtful precision to her work as both an interior designer and artist. Raised along the Tidewater region of the East Coast, Lori’s early love of the outdoors—from ocean swims and mountain camping to river boating—instilled in her a deep appreciation for natural beauty and authentic experiences. These influences continue to inspire her artistic vision and design approach today.
Lori holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from NC State University and initially pursued a career in technology. However, her creative drive led her to transition full-time into the world of art and interior design, enabling her to share her vision more fully and spend meaningful time with her family.
As an interior designer, Lori collaborates closely with clients to create spaces that reflect their personal style. Her designs often blend new and vintage elements to achieve a timeless, collected feel—resulting in interiors that are as unique as the people who live in them. Color, pattern, and texture are thoughtfully curated to harmonize and enliven each space, ensuring both comfort and visual interest.
Lori’s artwork is inspired by color relationships, pattern, and composition—qualities rooted in her mathematical background and inspired by artists such as Willem de Kooning, Fairfield Porter, and Richard Diebenkorn. Her paintings—primarily rendered in oil or acrylic on canvas and wood panels—explore themes drawn from everyday life, nature, and nostalgic scenery.
Whether designing a home or creating original art, Lori approaches every project with intention, balance, and an eye for rhythm. Her work seeks to create harmonious, inviting atmospheres that feel both personal and timeless—spaces and pieces that tell a story and inspire connection.
